We haven’t been on here for a long time. There are guests bloggers I’d like to get on here but that always takes an indefinite amount of time.
This is about posture and Body Mechanics and I can’t remember if we did this before but its worth doing again.
Why, why, why must he always ask me to take pictures and film on hot, sunny days when I was up all last night!

Victoria Park, Kitchener Ontario. Taylor is standing in a kyphosis stance (shoulders rolled forward, chest sunk, core disengaged).

This is the proper stance. Legs about shoulder width apart, tummy slightly in (core engaged to protect lower back), chest out. If you push your hands down at the sides of your legs you in a semi stand-at-attention position (try it and you’ll see that your tummy draws in and your spine is aligned from the tailbone up).

Gloria is in the starting position to do a squat shoulder press. Her stance is as wide as it needs to be so she feels most stable. She only squats as low as possible to keep her spine in neutral (notice a curve in the small of her back). Her chin is in neutral position, her knees do not go over her toes and her shoulders do not over her knees. If she squatted lower her shoulder would shift forward. Her shoulders and ankles are aligned.

At full extension (her elbows are not locked out) her shoulders and ankles are aligned and she is not leaning on her lower back. You can arch from the mid back but not the lower back.

Arla is facing forward. Her knees are aligned with the direction her toes are pointing.

Notice the position of her ear to shoulder to hip. Make sure you always draw in your pelvic area (lower ab) when standing up.

Krystal is standing at-attention. Ear, shoulder, hand, ankle alignment puts your spine in neutral position. That is the safest and most efficient position. This was taken at what used to be the Beckett School in Kitchener, Ontario.

We’ll try again to make mini-workouts. Maybe even more videos at some point.
